In an end-of-year celebration, Pocahontas Parkway announced it has donated to several Virginia-based organizations, reaffirming its commitment to community support. DRIVE SMART Virginia (DSV), Feed More, and Liberation Veteran Services (LVS) will each receive donations from Pocahontas Parkway to further support veterans, promote safe driving, and enhance well-being across Virginia.
Pocahontas Parkway Alert: Fake text messages targeting toll road drivers
Pocahontas Parkway was alerted on April 24, 2024, that a text message-based scam, also known as smishing, is fraudulently claiming to represent tolling agencies from across the country. The scammers are claiming to represent the tolling agency and requesting payment for unpaid tolls.

Disabled Vehicles Added to Move Over Law, Effective July 1, 2023
Pocahontas Parkway is proud to announce that a requirement to give space on the road to disabled vehicles has been added to the Move Over Law. The law aims to protect the safety of motorists experiencing issues with their vehicles that cause roadside stoppages.

20th Anniversary DRIVE SMART Virginia Donation
To celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, Pocahontas Parkway is providing $60,000 in grants to several local nonprofit organizations over 2022. This week, the toll road announced a $20,000 grant to DRIVE SMART Virginia, which will be used to support the organization’s victim advocacy programs.
20th Anniversary Liberation Veteran Services Donation
To celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, Pocahontas Parkway is providing $60,000 in grants to several local nonprofit organizations over 2022. This week, the toll road announced a $20,000 grant to Richmond-based Liberation Veteran Services, which will be used to help transport its veteran residents to and from their medical appointments at McGuire VA Hospital.
